Terms of service

Effective date: October 1, 2026

This English text is a translation for convenience. If it differs from the Korean version, the Korean version applies.

1. Service

Codykata is a non-profit algorithm learning service run by an individual. It provides the features below. The operator may change features or perform maintenance to keep the service stable.

  • Reading problems, writing code, running tests, and judging submissions
  • Code analysis in the editor (completion, code explanations, argument hints, and error and warning markers)
  • The Dyka AI tutor and automatic problem translation
  • Creating problems, comments, and difficulty and tag contributions
  • Profiles, tiers, rankings, and notifications

2. Accounts

  • You can create an account with GitHub or Discord authentication.
  • You must keep your authentication method secure. You may not use another person's account or transfer your access.
  • Nicknames must be unique. You may not use a name that impersonates someone or is offensive.
  • You can delete your account in Settings. The privacy policy explains which information is deleted and which remains.

3. Rules of use

The following are prohibited. If you break these rules, your content may be hidden or your use may be restricted.

  • Disrupting the service or its code analysis, judging, or AI environments, or bypassing permissions
  • Placing excessive load on the service with automated requests
  • Trying to access other users' private code or information
  • Infringing others' rights or posting illegal, hateful, or spam content
  • Obtaining credits or contributions by dishonest means

4. User content

  • You keep the rights to the code you write. The service processes your code only as needed for code analysis, test runs and judging, submission history, and AI tutor answers. When you use the solving editor while logged in, the code you are writing is sent to the analysis server even before you submit or run tests.
  • You are responsible for the comments, profile photos, status messages, and images you upload. Upload only material you have the right to post.
  • Comments are visible to other users. Hide content that reveals a solution as a spoiler. Administrators may hide comments that break the rules of use.
  • The privacy policy explains exactly what is processed and how it is kept and deleted.

5. Creating problems and rights

  • New problems and changes to a problem, its source, or its license are published after an administrator reviews and approves them. Until approval, the currently published content stays in place.
  • The copyright in a problem you create stays with you. Registering it with the service does not transfer the copyright to the service.
  • You grant the service a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to publish the problem in the service and to judge, display, and keep solutions to it (the “service use grant”). Depending on user settings, this includes creating machine translations of the title and statement and showing them alongside the original.
  • The service use grant is not a public license. Registering a problem does not give other users the right to copy, modify, or redistribute it. Permission to use it outside the service is decided separately by the rights holder.
  • Problems that take, translate, or adapt outside material must show the original source, its actual license, and a link to its terms, and must follow those terms. The service use grant does not cover permissions the person registering the problem does not have.
  • When an administrator disables a problem, it stays in the list and its page remains, but submissions, test runs, AI questions, contributions, feedback, and comments are no longer possible. Deleting a problem permanently deletes its statement, examples, and tests, along with the comments, submissions, and solve records linked to it.

6. Credits and Plus

  • Credits are in-service points earned by signing up, checking in, contributing to problems, and similar activities, and can be used only for Plus. They cannot be bought with money, exchanged for cash, or transferred to another account.
  • Credit rewards, Plus prices and periods, plan features, and AI tutor limits are shown in the service and may change depending on operating conditions.
  • Credits obtained dishonestly may be revoked. Deleting your account also removes your remaining credits and Plus period.

7. AI tutor and automatic translation

  • Dyka's answers and automatic problem translations are reference information generated by AI. They may be wrong or differ from the original, and they do not replace official judging results or the original problem text.
  • The privacy policy explains what is sent for the AI tutor and automatic translation, and which outside AI services are used.

8. Service limits and liability

  • Code analysis results are reference information and do not guarantee that code runs or is correct. Because the analysis and judging environments differ, results may differ, and analysis warnings do not block submission.
  • The analysis connection may drop because of traffic, resource limits, long inactivity, or expired authentication. You can still edit code, run tests, and submit.
  • The service may be temporarily unavailable because of maintenance, outages, or changes to outside services.
  • Because the service is free, the operator is not liable for indirect damages from unforeseeable outages or data loss, unless caused intentionally or by gross negligence.
